My husband, Lorenzo & I are both homebodies. We prefer Netflix on the couch to going to the theater. We order Chinese takeout a lot more than we dine out at restaurants. The list goes on. Even though we are reclusive & that’s never going to change, we do still enjoy going out for dates now & then. We recently decided to have a weekly date night. We chose Tuesday. Last night was the first of our many Tuesday dates to come.
Last night’s date started at Treaty Oak park (the location at which the photos in this post were taken). It was both of our first times there. It’s a quaint park with a short walkway & benches. The highlight of the park is the large Oak tree. The tree is guesstimated to be around 250 years old & it’s huge. I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t as impressed as a lot of other locals likely are. I mean don’t get me wrong, it’s a damn nice tree, haha. But we’ve seen the famous banyan tree in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, & so other trees just can’t live up. Nonetheless, it was a lovely time.
We picked up some vegan veggie pizzas & took them to another park just a few minutes down the road. This park is a regular of ours. It’s waterfront – the St. Johns River & offers beautiful sunset views. We arrived at the park just as the sun was beginning to set. Eating my favorite food, pizza, with my amazing sexy husband, nice waterfront breeze, with a beautiful sunset in view, so romantic – an absolutely perfect evening!
It was a great start to our brand new weekly tradition of Tuesday date night. I am really excited to have many more wonderful date nights with my love. And we can still have our lazy Netflix Chinese take-out evenings at home the other six nights of the week, haha… I kid! … Like five nights a week. We obviously have to have burritos at some point, tee-hee.
